Rental admin fee per toll (optional)

Left blank on purpose. If your rental company pays a toll on your behalf they add an administration fee, but it is set by your contract and varies widely — we will not put a number in this box for you. It is charged per toll, not per journey.

Northern Ireland: No tolls. Northern Ireland has no toll roads, so there is nothing to price in pounds either.

If the M50 is on your list: there are no booths. Pay by 8pm on the day after you travel or the penalties below start.

The M50 is the one that catches people out

The M50 around Dublin is the only barrier-free toll in the Republic. There are no booths, no barriers and nothing to stop you. Cameras read your number plate as you pass under the gantry between Junction 6 (N3 Blanchardstown) and Junction 7 (N4 Lucan), and from that moment an unregistered driver has until 8pm on the day after you travel to pay. Every other toll in the country has booths where you pay on the spot.

What this tool does not do

It does not guess your route. A toll plaza sits on one carriageway between two named junctions, so a map pin near it cannot tell you whether you took the motorway or the old road. Only drives whose routing is written down are offered.
It prices private cars only. Vans, goods vehicles and motorcycles pay different rates at every plaza. If you are hiring anything larger than a car, check the rate on the operator's own page.
It does not price your rental company's admin fee. If you leave an M50 toll unpaid, eFlow bills the registered keeper — the rental company — who charges it back to your card along with an administration fee set by your contract. That fee is theirs, not ours to quote, which is why the box for it starts blank.
It never shows a partial total. If one toll on your list cannot be priced, or our rates have been overtaken by a 1 January revision, the tool says so instead of showing a number.

Northern Ireland

No tolls. Northern Ireland has no toll roads, so there is nothing to price in pounds either.

A cross-border drive is priced for its Republic leg only. Cross into Northern Ireland and the tolls stop at the border, along with the euro, the kilometre and the km/h speed limit.

Car rates are read from each scheme's own page on Transport Infrastructure Ireland, and the M50 rates and penalties from eFlow, its operator. Last checked 17 September 2026. Tolls are revised effective 1 January each year.
