County Donegal
Ireland's rugged, remote northwest
About Donegal
County Donegal is Ireland's northernmost county and perhaps its most underrated. With Europe's highest sea cliffs, pristine beaches, and a wild, untamed character, Donegal rewards those who venture off the beaten path.
Why Visit Donegal?
Donegal offers experiences you won't find elsewhere in Ireland:
- Spectacular cliffs - Slieve League dwarfs the Cliffs of Moher at nearly 600 meters
- Endless beaches - Some of Ireland's finest strands, often deserted
- Remote wilderness - Glenveagh National Park feels like Scotland
- Strong traditions - Irish language, music, and weaving thrive
- Fewer tourists - Donegal sees a fraction of the visitors of Kerry or Clare
